The Litchfield prison of “Orange is the New Black” will be rolling out the orange carpet (not really) for new inmates in Season 3. Also one of the most famous inmates is returning, and the trailer indicates, she is not glad to be back among the familiar faces.

[Spoiler Alert] In “Orange is the New Black” Season 2, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) presents herself with an early release by testifying against her former boss. When her on and off lover, Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), learns that Alex is planning to skip town, she asks Polly (Maria Dizzia) to tip off her probation officer. When the officer comes to check on her, he finds Alex pointing a gun at him. [Spoiler Alert Ends]

Alex was seen in a limited number of scenes in Season 2 because of Prepon’s contract issues and her other acting commitments. Prepon is returning as a series regular in Season 3 and will appear in each episode. Alex back in prison means fireworks and emotional turbulence. And when she finds out Piper is the reason why she is back in prison, high-voltage drama is expected.

Inmate Lolly (Lori Petty), who Piper first met on her Chicago bound prisoners’ transport plane, is entering Litchfield prison. She, too, has a reason to hold a grudge against Piper. When a gang of Chicago prison inmates ganged up against her and bashed her up, Piper refused to become her saviour. In the first trailer of “Orange is the New Black” Season 3, Lolly is first seen in the newcomer orange jumpsuit and is later donning the tan one.

The arrival of the attractive Stella Carlin (Ruby Rose) is going to cause quite a commotion, as her beauty would attract the attention of the Litchfield inmates. And she is going to become Piper and Alex’s lust object. A character based on Martha Stewart is also going to be introduced in Season 3 and it is not confirmed who is playing the role and whether she will be entering Litchfield as an inmate.

In addition to these inmates, the prison will also welcome its new corrections officer, played by Marsha Stephanie Blake. And Mary Steenburgen is arriving, too, -- most probably not as an inmate –as Pornstache’s mother.

Netflix is scheduled to release all the episodes of “Orange is the New Black” Season 3 on June 12. Meanwhile, the show has already been renewed for Season 4. The production on the fourth instalment is expected to begin soon. Jackie Cruz and Lea DeLaria, who have been recurring since Season 1, have been upped to series regulars on “Orange is the New Black” Season 4.
