“Orange is the New Black” Season 3 will introduce a character inspired by Martha Stewart, the lifestyle guru, according to Jenji Kohan, creator of the show.

At the TIME 100 Gala, Kohan told Time that Stewart like character is Southern, as they have taken “some liberties with the character.” She did not reveal who is playing the role and what kind of liberties they have taken. According to Time’s report, in her memoir, Piper Kerman has written how Stewart was almost sent to Danbury, which has inspired the Litchfield prison of the show, after her insider-trading scandal. She, however, was sent to a prison in West Virginia. “Orange is the New Black” is based on Kerman’s memoir of the same name.

Meanwhile, Stewart, who was also present at the gala, said that she has not seen the critically acclaimed drama-comedy. And Time has quoted her as saying, “I’ll look at it.”

Stewart’s inspired character is not the only one who is getting introduced in the upcoming season. George "Pornstache" Mendez’s mother is one of the most anticipated characters of “Orange is the New Black” Season 3. Mary Steenburgen is playing this role. And her character is making her appearance in her son's absence, as the actor who plays Pornstache, Pablo Schreiber, is not returning to reprise his role.

Australian model Ruby Rose is going to be introduced as an attractive new inmate, Stella Carlin, who will become Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) and Laura Prepon’s lust object. Marsha Stephanie Blake will be seen as the new corrections officer. Also Mike Birbiglia and Blair Brown are going to make an appearance in Season 3.

“Orange is the New Black” has already been renewed for Season 4. Deadline.com has reported that Jackie Cruz has been promoted as a series regular for the fourth instalment. The actress portrays the character of Hispanic inmate at Litchfield prison, Marisol "Flaca" Gonzales. Cruz has been seen in a recurring role since Season 1. The upcoming Season 3 will feature Flaca’s backstory and it is expected to further explore her character.

Netflix is scheduled to release all the episodes of “Orange is the New Black” Season 3 on June 12. The new season is set to explore the theme of faith.
