Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach might be dating the President of the Philippines

Barely 48 hours after wearing the crown of Miss Universe 2015, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has already landed in a soup. The 26-year old beauty queen from Philippines is in news owing to her alleged affair with the President of the Philippines Benigno Aquino III.

The speculations that Miss Universe 2015 may be dating the President of the Philippines were fueled soon after Wurtzbach made it to the headlines owing to her successful stint at Miss Universe Pageant that was held on Dec. 20. However, Aquino’s talk show host sister, Kris Aquino, has dismissed the rumours straight away.

It was in March when the newly coronated Miss Universe when Wurtzbach appeared on Kris’ talk show and admitted their amicable relationship.

"I know him. I talk to him, yes. He’s very fun to talk to," Wurtzbach told Kris back then. However, their relationship has been assumed to be much more than being just amicable and they have been romantically linked time and again.

Aquino, aged 55, took charge as 15th President of the Philippines in June 2010 and is said to be close to Wurtzbach. The President’s sisters - Maria Elena (Ballsy), Aurora Corazon (Pinky), Victoria Elisa (Viel), and Kristina Bernadette (Kris), too share a great rapport with Wurtzbach but Kris has denied the possibility of a romantic relationship between the two.

"She could have denied [that they were dating]," the political scion, 44, said. "I don’t think she liked Noy … I think she entertained him but the thing is, you can tell from her character [that she’s] single-minded," US Weekly quoted Kris.

The 26-year old Filipino beauty was congratulated by the president in an official statement that was released on Monday.

"Today, the whole country unites in celebration over Ms. Pia Wurtzbach’s coronation as Miss Universe in the 2015 pageant in Las Vegas, USA. Throughout her journey, Ms. Wurtzbach showcased to the world the characteristic beauty, intelligence, and elegance for which Filipinas are renowned,” the statement read.
