On Nov. 12, 2013 Lucía Aldana (Miss Colombia 2012) in an interview with " W RADIO" revealed some hard facts about Miss Universe Organisation. As Aldana represented Colombia at Miss Universe 2013 pageant so she has revealed the truth she has experienced behind the glam and glitz of the gala.

In contentious statement, the ex-senorita Colombia stated that they are "light years which lead other countries" in preparation for the contest and confirmed that there are favouritism for some delegates.

Given below are some translated excerpts from the interview:

"Miss Universe contest is not as glamorous as it seems on TV. There are preferences to certain contestants who are asked for photo shoots, ads, videos, etc. and you start to realize where you stand in the competition."

"I had all the intentions to place high or at least place among the Top 10 but once I got there, I got to realize many things and you can't do much but to enjoy the rest of the days left."

She said that Molly was an exceptional winner and she disclosed to her about her training and preparations for the event. She said that Molly knew she would be in the Top 5 because she was unerringly trained for that.

"Miss Colombias are not prepared for Miss Universe. The objectives of a Miss Colombia are different than a Miss Venezuela whose objective is to win Miss Universe."

She pointed out that the franchise fees plays a vital role in shaping the preferential treatment of certain delegates.

The radio presenter asked Aldana that based on her avowal, should Colombia uphold an interest in Miss Universe and her answer was 'No'.

"I am more than convinced that many of us who were left out is not because we are ugly or not competitive, but because our country does not have much importance to the MUO."

"I was a bit concerned before going to Miss Universe about what past Miss Colombias have told me. They told me that it is not what I am expecting it to be, and you don't win because of your beauty. Usually the one you never expected ends up winning."

"No one really knows what the real secret is, but it's all business and Donald Trump is one of the richest man in the world and he should know why he does certain things."

She also said Philippines has a key advantage because of the amount of supports by fans, a group present at the contest venue cheering-up loudly and the magnitude of viewership from Philippines, all this count in placing the delegate, it's not only preparations and presentations which count.

She also stated that the Philippines is one of the countries which pay the highest franchise fees for Miss Universe so the contest might be held in Philippines in near future. They are not paying just to representing their country; there is solid rationale behind that.

Aldana brought very interesting point in limelight that in Colombia its Colombians who crown Colombians where as in Asia the Miss Universe is present there during the coronation, and this has to do with the high franchise fees.

Donald knows why he chooses his hoit picks Top 16, Top 10 and Top 5 etc. There are judges there but then contest conclude with a surprise. She pointed out that Donald Trump handpicks the contestants and everything is scripted and judges of the contest are mere puppets.

This interview is all set to spark a huge controversy!
