Microsoft's HoloLens AR glasses Microsoft

Microsoft is going to show-off what its HoloLens AR glasses does, and why we should buy the device at its upcoming tour of the US and Canada. Fortunately for those that want to experience Microsoft's $3,000 augmented reality headsets first hand, you’ll be glad to know tickets are now out.

Considering Microsoft wants to make sure tour venues are filled to the max, interested buyers might want to reserve their seats early on. There will be HoloLens expert appointed by the company's execs at every tour stop to inspire developers to create experiences that further improve HoloLens.

"We are excited to offer developers the opportunity to get a firsthand demo of Microsoft HoloLens and meet a member of our development team to learn more about creating holographic experience”, stated Microsoft. "Come build the hologrophaic future with us”!

Although Microsoft will be a bit busy with HoloLens’ North American tour, Tech Times has reported the company is actually focused on building its AR department's infrastructure. That said, Microsoft reportedly has plans of launching the new technology sometime in 2016.

Furthermore, HoloLens is expected to come with a price tag of $3,000 a pop. Those well aware of Google Glass’ price aren’t surprised, however.

After all, Glass entered the tech market at a price a bit shy of $2,000 during its first run, which narrowed its target market. Google reportedly wanted to cut the price for a wider release, which, hasn’t happened yet.

Microsoft also hasn’t confirmed a lower price for HoloLens. It’s worth noting that enterprise adoption will certainly help in bringing down the device's price. Still, potential buyers shouldn’t expect this AR headset to come cheap.

Those interested in reserving a seat for the AR tour can visit HoloLens Events. Dates and locations will also be posted on the website.
