Wearable gadgets are not going out of fashion anytime soon, with the latest being "Microsoft Band" in the long list of promising devices. The Band sets the buyers back by only 199 USD at the Microsoft Store. However now, a 3D printed "charging station" for the Microsoft Band can be availed for as low as 10 USD.

Microsoft jumped into the fitness tracker bandwagon recently with its sleek Band. With minimalistic design, the Redmond based company has integrated key health and fitness features at an affordable price. This gear can be used to monitor heart rate, step counter, skin temperature and UV sensor. Additionally, the device comes equipped with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, GPS, gyrometer and a microphone. Meanwhile, health conscious Band users can also track calorie burn and sleep quality. Apart from tracking fitness and health related metrics, the gear also supports Guided Workouts, says Windows Phone site.

According to Microsoft, this gear can provide up to 48 hours of battery charge under moderate usage circumstance with the housed dual 100 mAh Li-ion polymer batteries. In case, the GPS is used, the battery will deplete relatively faster. The band takes fewer than 1.5 hours to charge from 0 percent to 100 percent. Key specifications of the Microsoft Band include a 1.4-inch TFT full-colour display with 320 x 106 pixels resolution. Adding cherry on top, the Band has dust- and water splash-resistant exterior.

On the other hand, the device can also be used to preview emails, get calendar alerts and take notes. As one would expect, this gear can be used as an alarm clock or even as a regular clock. In addition, Windows Phone 8.1 handset users can also set reminders via voice commands using Microsoft's digital personal assistant Cortana.

Furthermore, potential Band buyers can purchase a 3D printed charging station in white, black and metallic-plastic hues. The station is priced based on the aforementioned colours for 10 USD, 11 USD and 15 USD, respectively, according to Phone Arena.
