Michael Schumacher continues to make progress while recovering from the ski accident that left him with debilitating injuries. His wife, Corinna Schumacher, has taken over their business and is the number one in his care team. But Schumacher’s condition is not showing any rapid improvements, and many in his care team have reconciled to the fact that this Formula One great would never be his old self again.

Schumacher suffered from severe brain injuries from a skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013. Even though he received the best of medical care, there has been very little progress. The family had imposed a press blackout about his health conditions to avoid speculation. Corinna and the Schumacher children, Gina and Mick, have been constantly at his side along with doctors and caregivers to ensure a speedy recovery. Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm, said to News 24 that "it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight."

According to Christian Today, Corinna has transformed herself in to a business women to manage the racing pro’s GBP500 billion ($1 billion) fortune. Rumours claimed that the family was going through financial struggles as reports emerged about the sale of his private jet and French Alps property. Corinna had put the $50 million grey Falcon 2000EX jet in the market. Many feel that she might have accepted the fact that her husband may not return to his old self even with a spectacular recovery. She has instead focused on giving the best for her husband’s care and her children’s future. The Formula One champion had earned enough during his peak years to sustain his family.

Schumacher is one of the racing great with seven world championships to his name. His daughter, Gina, 17, won accolades for her performance at the NRHA European Futurity Horse Show, and his son Mick, 16, was recently crowned the “Best Rookie” at the Oschersleben Motorsport Arena.
