MasterChef US” Season 7 winner Shaun O’Neale is having the time of his life gearing up for his upcoming cookbook, which is now on full track with preparations.

The 33-year-old Las Vegas DJ took to Instagram yet again to share updates about his project, which will come out in early 2017. The cookbook deal is part of Shaun’s prizes, in addition to taking home US$250,000 (AU$327,000). In one post, Shaun uploaded a photo of the plate options he’s going to use for his featured dishes.

He captioned the image, “What an amazing first day of the photoshoot for my upcoming cookbook!!! These are only half of the plate options available to me!!! I can not wait to show you guys this book!!! The team that #MasterChef has assembled to work on this shoot is amazing.”

Shaun also posted an image of lobster bisque with bacon croutons and cognac cream with his name on it. “Get the recipe in my upcoming cookbook,” he wrote, “[Or] try this for yourself on the #MasterChefCruise at my premiere launch event!!” He also seems to be exploring molecular gastronomy with his take on risotto cooked in a parmesan broth with parmesan air, parmesan crisp and molecular balsamic pearls. He’s also not forgetting desserts – he said he’s playing around with some microwave chocolate sponge cake, strawberry ice cream, strawberry coulis and brulee strawberry.

In one photo, he’s seen preparing pasta from scratch. He then asked his followers to comment what their favourite pasta dishes are. “Maybe a version will end up in my upcoming cookbook,” he wrote. Last month, he gave his fans a glimpse of what to expect from his cookbook, writing, “The cookbook is well underway! I can’t wait to share this recipe with you!” Shaun also posted a photo of hazelnut herb crusted salmon with fresh ricotta and pea puree, which will also be part of his project.

He managed to win the votes of judges Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi, as well as guest chefs Wolfgang Puck and Daniel Boulud. For his entrée, he prepared halibut cheek with Vadouvan carrot puree, pickled mushrooms and uni foam, followed by his main dish, spice-rubbed venison with Cipollini onions, smoked plums, black truffle, and fiddlehead ferns. For dessert, he plated salted caramel tart with dark chocolate ganache and raspberry coulis , which Gordon described as “f---ing delicious.”
