Marvel TV is not cutting ties with Netflix but is only trying its luck in a different network. Two new shows will be coming in Freeform to add to the long list of Marvel TV superhero series.

Marvel currently has five series in Netflix based on its comic characters. It has “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” “Daredevil” and the most recent “The Punisher.” The company is now expanding the universe further on television.

On Wednesday, Freeform dropped the first official trailer for the upcoming Marvel series “Cloak & Dagger.” The show as well as Marvel's "New Warriors’ will have 10 episodes each for season 1. Both are slated to debut in 2018. “Heroes” writer and “Underground” co-creator Joe Pokaski will serve as showrunner and executive producer for “Cloak & Dagger.” “Cougar Town” Kevin Biegel will lead “New Warriors.”

“Cloak & Dagger”

This one's based on the comic series of the same name and marks Freeform's first live-action Marvel series. The series follows the lives of two teenagers, Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), who find themselves burdened with their newly acquired superpowers, which mysteriously compliment one another. Tandy can emit light daggers while Tyrone can envelop others in darkness.

The New Orleans natives come from very different backgrounds. Although they will fight bad guys side by side, complications will arise because of their feelings for each other, according to Marvel’s statement.

“New Warriors”

This is Marvel’s first venture into a comedy TV series. The adaptation is based on the comic title of the same name.

The “warriors” are not like the Avengers, though. This group is composed of six young roommates with superpowers and extraordinary skill sets, Marvel said. The gang is led by Squirrel Girl (Doreen Green), who has, as the name implies, squirrel powers. She can talk to the animal and has acrobatic skills. She is also an optimistic leader whose greatest power is getting others to believe in themselves.

Squirrel Girl will be joined by Speedball (Robbie Baldwin), who can shoot balls of energy out of his hands. The problem is, he can't control them. Microbe (Zack Smith), meanwhile, can communicate with germs, giving him a sort of telepathic ability. He is a shy guy and leans on the team for his confidence.

Debrii (Deborah Fields) is a lesbian low-level telekinetic trickster. She lost her loved ones as a result of a superheroic act gone wrong. Mister Immortal (Craig Hollis) claims he cannot die but is not willing to prove it - at least for now. For him, he doesn’t need to rush saving the world as he has all the time to learn how to be a superhero. He is charming, cocky and apparently, “The Most Interesting Man Alive.”

The group also has a member that does not have superpowers but has special skills. Night Thrasher (Dwayne Taylor) has a brilliant mind and a strong body. He comes from a wealthy family but he keeps it a secret because he’s afraid he will lose his local celebrity status if people find out.
