Mariah Carey attends ‘The Intern’ premiere with billionaire boyfriend James Packer
American singer, songwriter and actress Mariah Carey has finally made a red carpet debut with her newfound love, Australian businessman James Packer. The duo was spotted at the premiere of the Robert De Niro starrer, “The Intern,” on Monday
Carey’s camera-shy billionaire boyfriend appeared a little bemused at the red carpet as he was busy texting while the "Obsessed" singer was answering the reporters. However, the couple posed for the shutterbugs for a short while and even kissed for a moment at the red carpet. This is the couple's first public appearance after they were last spotted in Italy in June on their Mediterranean sailing trip. Packer is the fourth richest man in Australia, according to Forbes.
The singer donned a slinky burgundy gown and teamed it with a black leather jacket for the event, whereas Packer was spotted in a suit. Packer was seen alongside his new love as he was there to support Robert De Niro, who happens to be his business associate and close friend. The couple were present at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York to attend the premiere of “The Intern.” A report from Entertainment Tonight (ET) stated that Packer led Carey through the theatre room and they appeared to be very happy.
Carey told ET that she was having fun as they both are avid fans of Anne Hathaway and De Niro, the lead actors of the film. Carey appeared super confident about her love. The diva has never shied away from showing her affection for Packer. In July, she even dedicated a performance of her hit number, “Hero,” to Packer in Las Vegas.
“I got a new heart tonight. James is in my heart tonight,” Carey told the audience, according to a report from The Daily Telegraph.
“The Intern” stars De Niro as Ben, Hathaway as Jules and Rene Russo as Fiona. It will hit theatres on Friday. It is a comedy film directed and produced by Nancy Meyers. It is distributed by Warner Bros Pictures. The movie also stars Adam DeVine (Jason), Nat Wolff (Justin), Christina Scherer (Becky), Anders Holm (Matt) and Zack Pearlman (Davis).
