After the confirmation that the Real Madrid star player Gareth Bale is not for sale, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal turns attention to Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben. The Daily Star reported that Manchester United is set lure the world-class winger Arjen Robben to the club.

A period of extreme transition has been reportedly undergone by the Old Trafford club. The culprit was their extreme expenditure on the playing squad, added by their attempts on recent transfer windows just to see and get back the historic club to match for silverware.

Earlier on, Manchester United's interest over Real Madrid's Gareth Bale has been the favourite rumour on the field. In fact, it has been reported that Man United actually did make a move for the Real Madrid star except that it was a wrong time for them.

Despite Man United's readiness to sign up Bale for any cost, the incident only proved that money cannot buy everything -- this was the message Real Madrid sent across when it confirmed that Gareth Bale is never for sale. However, just recently Bale was criticised at Real Madrid due to a selfish showing and inability to work as part of a team, according to Marca.

Needless to say, Louis van Gaal has been a man with a solid network. Especially considering his personal link to Bayern Munich, it won't be a surprise if he would be able to convince the player to jump on board and join Manchester United.

Thus far, it would come as a surprise if Robben considers a Bayern Munich exit. In fact, despite his interest and admiration for the former Netherlands coach, Van Gaal, putting forward first his importance to the successful German team seems unlikely.

For whatever its worth, considering the battery of great playmakers in Man United, getting the 30-year-old Robben into the team, even if he is available might be unnecessary. As a second striker, Robben will already be just an additional to Man United's host of strikers namely, Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
