Madonna says rapper Kanye West is just like her in many ways. She has called the “Yeezus” rapper as “Black Madonna” in her recent interview with a publication. West has also collaborated on three tracks on the 56-year-old singer's recent album, “Rebel Heart,” which is scheduled for a March 10 release.

"Kanye is the new Madonna. Kanye is the black Madonna," Madonna is quoted as saying in an exclusive interview with Daily News. Madonna said that they both have a lot of common qualities and also called West as her “comrade” in the “envelope-pushing genre.” Both Madonna and West are rebels in their own ways and have always remained in news for some or the other reason.

Madonna has always been open about her fondness for West. The “Like A Virgin” singer told Rolling Stone magazine in her March 2015 interview that she may not always like what West does but she still loves him as a person. Madonna also advised West not to take things “too seriously” and go to the award shows “just to have fun.” The pop diva was referring to an incident where West stormed the Grammy Awards stage when Beck won the award instead of his favourite pal and artist Beyonce.

Madonna advised West that there is “no point” in expressing one's opinion about who should have won the award. West apparently took the Material Girl's advise seriously and later apologised to Beck for his irrational behaviour. Madonna described Kanye as a “brilliant madman,” who keeps blurting out “inappropriate” things. She told the magazine that music industry needs people like West because everyone else has become “so politically correct” these days while West speaks his heart out. She may not like his music or what he says but Madonna “loves” Kanye and also called him a “beautiful mess.”

Madonna has tapped in many artists, including West for her upcoming album. West recorded a song called “Illuminati” with Madonna. The pop icon wrote the song herself and told Rolling Stone magazine that West connected with the song as soon as he heard it. Madonna has also worked with Nicki Minaj on a track titled “B-tch I'm Madonna.”
