Mark Textor, the campaign strategist of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, sparked a Twitter outrage among Indonesian because he described Indonesia Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa as a look-alike of a 1970s Filipino porn star.

While he had since deleted the controversial post which did not name who was the porn star, some Filipinos who read the tweet guessed he was referring to deceased actor George Estregan.

Mr Estregan happens to be the brother of former Philippine President Joseph Estrada, and he used to be an action star but later forayed into porn movies in the 1980s. Among the porn movies, then called pene films because the actors engaged in actual sexual penetration while doing their lovemaking scenes, that Mr Estregan made were Saan Hahanapin ang Bukas (Where to Search for Tomorrow) and Sabik (Desire).

The pene movies of Mr Estregan, such as Saan Hahanapin ang Bukas, which has very graphic contents, could be found in this Web site.

However, it appears that Mr Textor was confused by Mr Estregan and his son, George Estregan Jr, who it seems, is the real look-alike of the foreign minister. The younger Estregan is also an action star and is likewise a controversial figure because he was recently unseated by the Philippine Commission on Election as governor of Laguna Province for electoral fraud.

The confusion comes because a Google search of the name George Estregan would yield the images of both father and son, and probably Mr Textor failed to distinguish the two.

However, his tweet sparked an outrage among Indonesians, based on subsequent tweets made as a reaction to his comparing the foreign minister to a porn star.

Daniel Sam called Mr Textor crazy, while Torry Jatiprakoso said the comparison is an indicator of Indonesia-Australia relations worsening and becoming so tense.

On the contrary, Sophie Braham said that Mr Natalegawa looks instead like an editor of an Indonesian literary journal or like a graphic designer.

F finds the comparison a compliment for the foreign minister, but these three Indonesians think otherwise.

Screen grab of reactions to Mark Textor tweets about Marty Natalegawa

An angry yudi_mw tweeted: "Hey Mark Textor you are the true porn star, not our minister Marty Natalegawa."

Sabam Sitinjak urged the foreign minister to punch Mr Textor.

Mr Abbott is being urged by Australians to distance himself from Mr Textor because his tweet which stated, "Apology demanded from Australia by a bloke who looks like a 1970's Pilipino porn star and has ethics to match," just added fuel to the rage in Indonesia caused by Canberra's spying on Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Although the tweet did not name the foreign minister, it was Mr Natalegawa who sought an apology from Mr Abbott for the phone tapping, exposed by former U.S. National Security Administration contractor Edward Snowden via leaked documents.

Reacting to the tweet, Labor Opposition foreign affairs spokeswoman Tanya Pilbersek said, quoted by InterAksyon, "Frankly I was quite shocked. They're highly inappropriate comments. I'm pleased to be told they've now been taken off the Twitter feed ... The prime minister must disassociate himself, the Liberal Party, and the Australian government from them immediately and unequivocally."

Greens leader Christine Milne called Mr Textor's tweet appalling, while former Australian Prime Minister Malcom Fraser demanded for the immediate firing of Mr Textor.

"This sort of tweet will be seen as just further inflaming the situation, particularly because of the close relationship between Mark Textor and the prime minister and the Liberal party in general," Ms Milne told ABC.
