According to an analysis of related searches, London is now the fashion capital of the world all because of the Alexander McQueen wedding dress Kate Middleton wore at the royal wedding.

The list that used to be dominated by New York, Milan, Paris is now topped by none other than London. This radical change in the fashion capital hierarchy is caused by the buzz surrounding the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress she wore for her wedding with Britain's Prince William. Although this change is supported by facts and buzzwords, some fashion experts are not so convinced with what London has to offer when it comes to serious fashion.

"For young people, London is the fashion capital, but if you are an American buyer it would be Paris or Milan." says leading British hat designer, Stephen Jones, in a report by Belfast Telegraph. Jones has worked with the likes of Chirstian Dior, Rei Kwakubo, and Marc Jacobs. Sharing the same insight is celebrity stylist Anthony Price, saying that the city is too hasty and quick with their fashion buys, choices, and even marketing.

"France and Italy have huge clothes companies that act as banks and can properly fund design. In London everyone wants to see a return on their investment in 25 minutes." says Price in the same report. On the other hand, some influential icons in fashion accept that there is truly a new fashion capital of the world. One of them is Jenny Dickenson, Elle Magazine's acting editor-in-chief.

"As much as we feel in our bones that London is the centre of fashion creativity right now, it's always pleasing to have it confirmed." says Dickenson in the same Belfast Telegraph report.

Just recently, US actress Anne Hathaway has said in a report that her fashion style is credited to the future queen of England. Hathaway mentioned how Middleton made dressing lady-like "fun" again.

"I'm just very grateful to Kate Middleton for making looking appropriate really fun again. So right now my fashion choices are all about Kate Middleton." says Hathaway in a post.
