A handful of users of LG G3 on Verizon received the OTA notification for Marshmallow. It seems the carrier has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to G3.

A Reddit user has claimed to have been one of the lucky few to get the firmware update notification. The update appears to have a software version VS98546A, which includes Google's security patches for January, as reported by GSM Arena.

As early as December 2015, some LG G3 units in Poland have started to receive the Android 6.0 update. Following a successful rollout, the update then rollsout to other countries around the world. The company also chose the small European country to release Marshmallow update for its latest flagship LG G4 in October 2015.

The G3 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The device is powered by Snapdragon 801 and comes in two RAM configurations i.e. 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB. Moreover, its 13-megapixel sensor features phase detection laser autofocus, optical image stabilisation (OIS) and dual-LED flash.

In the meantime, T-Mobile just added the LG V10, released in October last year, to its list of devices eligible to get the sweet taste of Marshmallow. LG launched V10 with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. Initially the device was released in select markets including the U.S., China and Hong Kong. T-Mobile was the first carrier in the US to sell the LG V10.

It is worth noting that T-Mobile has not yet started rolling out the update to V10. The website confirms that the device is in Manufacturer Development process, which means the carrier and the smartphone manufacturer have agreed to roll out the update. The carriers update status page has listed the smartphone along with LG G3, G4 and G Stylo.

The LG V10 is shipped with a 5.7-inch QHD IPS Quantum display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with a secondary 2.1-inch IPS Quantum display. The device touts a 16-megapixel main camera sensor, a 5-megapixel front shooter and a removable 3,000 mAh battery.
