The Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and the Oklahoma City Thunder are five teams that have engaged in serious discussions with the New York Knicks about a potential Kristaps Porzingis trade. According to a report, the Knicks have also discussed trade scenarios with each of the teams positioned in the Top-5 of Thursday's NBA Draft.

The Kncks are reportedly trying to acquire a Top-4 draft pick and an established starter in exchange for the Latvian prodigy that many tout a future NBA superstar. With less than 24 hours left for the 2017 NBA Draft, the Knicks would have to swing for a last-minute deal on Thursday to acquire the desired assets.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed Wednesday in The Vertical Podcast that the Knicks would "like to target Josh Jackson if they do move up" in the draft. The Phoenix Suns, who will select No. 4 on Thursday, have reportedly engaged several teams on the possibility of acquiring an established superstar. The Suns could offer a package of the No. 4 pick and Eric Bledsoe, who is reportedly available.

On Monday, the NBA world was in shock when reports surfaced of Knicks entertaining the idea of a Kristaps Porzingis trade. Several insiders believe Porzingis and Knicks president Phil Jackson developed animosity towards each other after the Latvian refused to attend the team's season-ending exit interview in April.

On Wednesday, Jackson confirmed the rumours to be true. "We're getting calls. As much as we value Kristaps and what he's done for us, when a guy doesn't show up for an exit meeting, everybody starts speculating on the duration or movability from a club," Jackson told the MSG Network, via ESPN.

"So we've been getting calls and we're listening, but we're not intrigued yet at this level. But as much as we love this guy, we have to do what's good for our club," added the 11-time NBA champion.

Jackson reiterated that he would expect a significant haul for Porzingis including a player whom the franchise can be built around. "The future, you know, what it brings. Does it bring us two starters and a draft pick or something that's even beyond that? (That's) something we have to look at as far as going down the road. We know what he is. He's a unicorn and he's special.''

According to The Vertical, the Knicks would look to replace Porzingis with Arizona forward Lauri Markkanen, who would likely be available when Knicks select No. 8 in Thursday's Draft. In such a scenario, the Knicks could walk away with both Josh Jackson and Lauri Markkanen from the 2017 NBA Draft. Markkanen, a native of Finland, averaged 15.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in his one-and-done season with the Arizona Wildcats.
