Mattel recently showcased a majestic replica of the Batmobile at the New York Toy Fair 2017. The radio-controlled model has a variety of features and will be available for collectors soon.

According to Engadget, the realistic miniature Batmobile has a built-in dash cam, the ability to emit gas, and augmented reality (AR) features. The toy can be controlled using an iOS or Android device, similar to a number of RC models. The dash cam is embedded in the cockpit, which allows collectors to view in Batman’s perspective. The Batmobile can manoeuvre through flat surfaces and obstacle courses, but the addition of AR features provide a more dynamic experience. Players can be given the option to seemingly shoot rockets at certain targets.

The Batmobile can also house a real Batman action figure, which is included in the package. The fully articulated figure provides the appearance that Batman is actually driving the Batmobile while cruising. Putting Batman’s hand on the steering wheel allows it to move when the vehicle changes direction, as if the Dark Knight is actually controlling it.

As shown in the video on Nerdist, Mattel’s Batmobile also has a genuine exhaust at the rear, which spews vapour, giving the appearance that it is burning rubber throughout Gotham City. However, the toy does not burn gas or produce smoke, but sweet-smelling vapour after a few drops of glycerol have been added to the tank. The Batmobile package also includes a starter supply, although the oil can be replaced with vape juice or baby oil.

Although fans had mixed reactions to the latest version of the Batmobile in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the miniature model did not disappoint. Collectors particularly appreciated the rugged appearance, scratches and scuff marks on the bottom part of the vehicle, hinting that it has gone through some adventures with Batman. The weapons, rockets and internal features of the engine are also highly detailed. The massive wheels and tough layout of the model most likely allow it to move over dirt and irregular terrain as well.

The Batmobile can reportedly raise two inches off the ground, giving it more ground clearance as needed. The engine also produces a realistic roaring sound once started. The rocket launchers, Gatling guns and front wheels face the same direction simultaneously, and there are interactive lights on the dash and front of the vehicle.

The Batmobile at the New York Toy Fair 2017 will be available for collectors at US$250 (AU$325) in October 2017. Watch a YouTuber's review.
