There are rumours that “American Horror Story” Season 7 will be inspired by the 2016 presidential election. Co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed some of the details surrounding the upcoming season.

According to CNN, Murphy appeared on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen, where he shared a few things about “American Horror Story” Season 7. He said that they do not have a title yet, and will start shooting the season in June 2017. He confirmed that the initial part of filming will focus on the last presidential election, which may be interesting for many people.

Cohen asked whether President Donald Trump will be included in “American Horror Story” soon, to which Murphy replied, “Maybe.” There is a huge possibility that fans may not know the theme for the seventh season, in the same way that the theme for “American Horror Story: Roanoke” was only unveiled during the Season 6 premiere.

It is still uncertain how Murphy can link American politics to horror, but the story may feature how Trump and his supporters managed to edge out Hillary Clinton to become President of the United States. The plot may only partially cover the 2016 elections, before moving on to other features to deliver the scares and thrills, such as ghosts in the White House. The location may be set in Washington, D.C., considering Murphy’s planned theme.

“American Horror Story” has been renewed for two more seasons in January 2017, which means that the series will continue up to Season 8 at least. Show regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters were confirmed to return next season.

Based on a report by AJC, Murphy also talked about the upcoming season of “American Crime Story,” which will also star Sarah Paulson and cover American politics. Season 2 will delve into the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Season 3 will focus on the 1997 murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace. Season 4 will delve into the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal. “American Crime Story” Season 4 will reportedly be based on a book by Jeffrey Tobin. Paulson is rumored to play Linda Tripp, Lewinsky’s confidante, while Murphy is still casting for the role of Lewinsky and Hillary Clinton.

“American Horror Story” Season 6 ended in November 2016. The launch date of the seventh season has yet to be announced, although fans are optimistic that the show will return late in 2017 on FX. In Australia, the show airs on Channel Eleven. More updates and details are expected soon.
