Rumors several months ago about Johnny Depp and the love of his life, Vanessa Paradis separating have finally been confirmed.

After 14 years of staying strong together, the couple has decided to separate amicably according to a statement released by Depp's publicist. The confirmation was first seen at the Entertainment Tonight page. "Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children," a part of the statement said.

People Magazine has previously reported too that Depp and Paradis came into a drift when they moved to LA from France. It was suspected that something else was happening between the couple when they have not been seen together during Depp's red carpet walks as they used to do in the past.

According to sources People had, the two are saddened as well with their relationship crumbling despite the strong long years that they have been together along with their kids. Their kids are Lily Rose and Jack who are 13 and 9 respectively.

How The Depp-Paradis Relationship Began

Depp, who is ten years older than Paradis, became a couple in 1998. Depp first saw Paradis, a French actress, sitting with a group of friends at bar in Costes Hotel where he was having dinner with his own colleagues. He then invited the actress over and eventually talked for several hours.

In his interview for a French Magazine, Depp once said that his wife and kids have given him the time of his life and which he considers as the ones who brings balance to his life which he had always missed.

Paradis explained in a separate interview why they never tied the knot. She said that they were both in love with romance and that them being together with their own kids is just the same as getting married.

In the end though, it saddens many fans to hear another Hollywood couple romance ending.
