The new hit comedy series “Jane The Virgin” returns tonight with the mid-season premiere episode. Chapter 15 kicks off with Jane and Rafael finally receiving the results of the test they took to determine the baby’s health. They needed to see if the baby had a genetic abnormality and the wait was agonising. They receive the good news that the baby is healthy but when Rafael decides to propose, things get a lot more complicated.

At the end of episode 14, Rafael asked Jane to move in with him. Jane has asked him to hold the thought while they wait to find out about the baby. Now that they know the baby is fine, Rafael asks the question again but Jane tells him that she wants a certain order in her life; dating, marriage then babies. Now that the order is out of whack, she says that she wants to get back on track.

Meanwhile, Xiomara and Rogelio are back together and the chastity vow has gone out the window. Rogelio is starting to accept his new job under his rival Esteban. Unfortunately, when he comes to work, things go downhill when he gets bullied there. He hides the truth from Xiomara because he doesn’t want her to think that he isn’t happy with his decision to stay in Miami with her. On the other hand, Xo has problems of her own. She suspects she may be pregnant so she tests Rogelio’s reaction. He freaks out and the two of them argue. In the end, Xo apologises for testing him. She also finds out she isn’t pregnant after all and they both agree to be more honest about their feelings.

At the Marbella, Jane finds out that her fave author Angelique Harper is at the hotel. Rafael gets her a seat at the event and connives with the author to stage a surprise proposal. He asks Jane to marry him but her reply was a simple: “Can we talk in private?"

Apparently, Rafael decided to propose because he thought Jane had been hinting that she wants to get married. This stemmed from the time that she told him about keeping things in order in her life. Jane consults with Xiomara and Abuela about the proposal. Xo doesn’t like the idea but Abuela is more positive.

Abuela tries to use a compatibility test to help Jane make a decision. One of the questions bothers her: “Does he know you down to your core?” This prompts Jane to test Rafael as well and as expected, he gets offended by her tactics. In the end, Jane realises her mistake and she admits to Rafael that she’s not yet ready to take the big leap. He is disappointed but accepts her answer. Unfortunately though, things get more complicated when he spots her having a laugh with her ex-fiance Michael.

Speaking of Michael, Jane was telling him about how she ended up giving Anqelique Harper a massage when she tried to give her a manuscript for one of her novels. The author eventually reads the manuscript and Jane tells Michael all about it since he’s the only one who really understands how much she idolises Harper.

Elsewhere, Petra is still in control of the Marbella. Lachlan tries to get Rafael to work with him to bring down his ex-wife. Unfortunately for Lachlan, his plan to blackmail Petra with a sex tape backfires. Rafael and Petra then end up working together against him.

Lastly, Aaron Zazo reaches out to Petra to seek closure about his deceased twin brother, Roman. Incidentaly, Roman is Petra’s ex-lver. He asks her about a family heirloom necklace and she agrees to gie it back. The episode closes with aaron breaking the necklace open to reveal a hidden USB device. What’s inside and a lot more questions will be answered when “Jane The Virgin” returns next Monday at 9pm on the CW.
