“Arrow” Season 3, Episode 15 ends with a cliffhanger question from Ra’s al Ghul. Oliver Queen has to decide. There is no new episode this week, so fans are left to speculate about the Arrow’s decision. Malcolm Merlyn is beaten to a pulp, and it appears only Oliver could save him now.

Spoiler alert: This update contains “Arrow” Season 3 spoilers. Read on at your own risk.

The synopsis of “Arrow” Season 3, Episode 16 contains a major spoiler on what happens next to Malcolm Merlyn. What it leaves out for the fans’ imagination is Oliver Queen’s response to Ra’s al Ghul’s question: Would you be my successor as head of the demon? The next new episode may have the answer.

The title of “Arrow” Season 3, Episode 16 does seem to hint at the hanging Arrow 3x15 question. It simply states, “The Offer.” In the same episode where Oliver realises he couldn’t afford to be afraid of Ra’s al Ghul, Ra’s himself offers him his feared and revered title.

While Oliver is being offered the demon’s head title, his sister Thea is offering a chance at ultimate vengeance to Nyssa al Ghul. Thea reveals to Nyssa that she is the one who killed Sara Lance, aka Ta-er al-Sahfer, aka The Canary. There is also some minor spoiler on what happens next to this other Queen-demon confrontation in the Arrow 3x16 synopsis.

“Laurel and Nyssa bond over their issues with their fathers; and Thea is forced to come to terms with her father after Oliver brings Malcolm to the loft to recover,” reads the episode synopsis of “Arrow” Season 3, Episode 16 on TV.com.

There is also a new villain in Starling City, the first one to wreak havoc since Ray Palmer has put on his Atom suit (which also happens in “Arrow” Season 3, Episode 15). The villain of the week is called Murmur, who could be an adaptation of the DC Comics supervillain who antagonised the Flash.

In hindsight, Oliver Queen would not have stood before Ra’s al Ghul -- and challenged the demon’s head -- if Malcolm Merlyn hadn’t rolled out his dark and self-serving schemes. The twists and turns in these characters’ lives are making “Arrow” Season 3 much more intense than the two previous seasons combined.

“Arrow” Season 3, Episode 16 (“The Offer”) airs on Mar. 18 on The CW, according to TV.com.
