The iOS version of the widely used WhatsApp app has just gotten a new update. Now, the chat app can also be used with 3D Touch technology.

With this new feature, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users can have much better interaction with other WhatsApp users on the same devices. Unfortunately, the 3D Touch-enabled WhatsApp version is only available to the Apple's current flagships smartphones.

Now, WhatsApp users can enjoy the app's user interface, as well as easily access key shortcuts for certain apps. Considering the feature is relatively new for the chat app, it’s only limited to a handful of third party apps. It’s worth noting the number of third party apps that can be used with the new 3D Touch-ready WhatsApp is gradually increasing.

Users can now immediately Peek and Pop the photos, links, contacts, locations, and videos that were sent and received during the in-app conversations, as stated in the app's official iTunes page.

The news about WhatsApp implementing 3D Touch-enabled technology surfaced shortly after it was announced that Instagram, Facebook and Dropbox also updated their iOS apps to support the pressure-sensitive feature. That said, it was Dropbox that first supported the technology. Others eventually followed suit.

It must be noted, however, that for WhatsApp users to completely enjoy this new feature, they have to make sure they’ve upgraded their iOS to its latest version.

By upgrading the app to Build 2.12.9, users also gain access to an upgraded WhatsApp UI that allows right to left languages such as Arabic. It was also mentioned by Tech Times that the new WhatsApp for iOS also comes with more minor improvements, but what they are in particular wasn’t specified.
