Iggy Azalea says 'Mo Bounce' twerking helped in weight loss
Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has a secret for her recent weight loss, and it was a very interesting revelation. The 26-year-old rapper, who is known for her shapely derriere, said that she lost a huge amount of weight by twerking to the latest music video of her new single, “Mo Bounce.” The rapper had to practice a lot of body moments to get her twerks right so she ended up burning body fat in the process.
The Sydney-born rapper told Nova 9.69's Fitzy & Wippa on Thursday that the high-energy twerking led to a loss of more than six kilos in a week. “It's a lot - I went on a meal plan before the video because I knew I would have to be dancing fairly skimpily dressed,” she told the radio hosts. She then revealed that she had to undergo a lot of rehearsals, which led to a loss of “15 pounds (6.8 kilos) in a week dancing to that song!”
The “Fancy” rapper said that twerking is like an art, and one either has the skill or not. “It just has to come naturally, you either have it or you don't,” she told the radio channel, adding that she took twerking classes from someone who is “very very good at twerking and she helped me.”
Azalea also told the radio show that in order to do some twerking, one needs to have a flexible body. She was thus advised to do yoga. “I never realised how flexible you have to be do to that stuff, and [my teacher] was like ''I really suggest you take yoga''... I didn't know you had to take yoga to be a twerker but apparently you do,” Azalea said.
The “Black Widow” songstress also said that she is looking forward to organise a tour in her hometown Australia after the release of her new album “Digital Distortion” later this year. The singer last performed in Australia when she opened for Beyonce during her concert.
Meanwhile, on the personal front, things doesn't seem to be doing good. Azalea and her former partner, NBA player Nick Young, have put up their home for sale. The two broke up in 2016 and shared a luxury home in Tarzana Estate in CA. The house has an area of 6,630 square feet, with six bedrooms, seven full and two half bathrooms, according to Variety.
