Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, the onscreen Delena couple in "The Vampire Diaries" TV series, have bonded once again on the social networking sites in sharing the good news to their fans about Ian's dog Nietzche giving birth to 8 adorable puppies. The 34-year-old heartthrob actor rescued the wandering dog back in early August near the TVD set unaware that his new pet was pregnant at that time.

Mr Somerhalder excitedly shared the news to his millions of followers on Twitter about his best friend Nietzche going into labor on Tuesday, October 8. The actor posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder: "She's in Labor! Aunt @thejram (aka midwife) & Uncle @polivierjr our little Nietzche girl is about to drop a ton of love into the world. World please send super-positive energy to this very brave and very scared little girl."

Who are the aunt and uncle that Ian Somerhalder mentioned in his tweet? The two were identified as Jessica Ramsey and Paul Olivier, Jr. who works at the Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF). The actor continued to keep an eye on Nietzche during her labour and tweet about it.

"Live from the whelping box In Atlanta! Panting, pushing, contractions - Wow. Make no mistake about it - Ladies rule. Women of every species blow my mind ... Incredible what mamas go through! Love to you mamas - all over the world. Jeez," Ian further posted with a shared image of himself cuddling his girl Nietzche.

Additionally, Mr Somerhalder grabbed the opportunity of using Nietzche's unexpected pregnancy to spread educational words for his foundation. "THIS ignites even more ISF's vision and the absolute necessity to finish research and distribute SAFE species-specific oral sterilization drugs for dogs and cats! Let's put our heads together and end OVER POPULATION OF THESE INCREDIBLE ANIMALS! Thank you!" the actor further stated.

Ian Somerhalder has not shared a picture yet of Nietzche with her little bundles of joy, but the supportive ex-girlfriend and "Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev already posted an image of the Nietzche's new family. Ms Dobrev wrote on her WhoSay account with the image attached: "Birthing little Nietzsches ... Such a beautiful + equally terrifying thing to witness ...The miracle of life #Wow."
