Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has officially sent out media invites for an event in Beijing on Oct. 10, which will be held to unveil the new Huawei Honor Play 5X. In the same event, the company is also expected to launch Huawei P9 in two variants - LTE and Delux. The device might come packed with the Kirin 950, Huawei's most powerful chipset.

According to GSM Arena, Chinese website TENNA has certified Honor Play 5X for sale in China and listed full specifications of the device. The handset features a 5-inch HD touch screen display. The device will come packed with 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek's MT6735 SoC containing a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU and a Mali-T720 GPU coupled with 2 GB of RAM.

It sports 16 GB of internal memory, which can be expandable via microSD card up to 32 GB. The Honor Play 5X houses a huge 4000 mAh battery, a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front shooter for selfies. The dual SIM supported handset will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Huawei's proprietary Emotion UI. The device supports connectivity options including 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with AGPS support. The smartphone will be priced at 1000 yuan (AU$221), reports Times News.

After launching the much anticipated Huawei Nexus 6P on Sept. 29, the company is said to be venturing into the high-end smartphone market. Huawei is ready to launch the new Honor 5X, which has been listed by certification website TENAA.

The Honor 5X is expected to sport a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1080x1920 pixels Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 octa-core SoC, GB of RAM, 32GB of internal expandable storage and 13MP rear camera with LED flash. The 4G LTE, 3G and Wi-Fi supported device is expected to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop coupled with Emotion UI.
