A Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Smartphone At The IFA In Berlin

Huawei launched its next Honor smartphone i.e. the Honor 7 on June 30 and it will be available in three variants. The lowest variant of Honor 7 with 16 GB storage and LTE has been priced at $322, the mid-range variant with the same 16 GB storage and dual SIM 4G LTE will cost $354 and the top end variant with 64 GB internal storage and dual 4G LTE SIM will be available at a price tag of $402, according to reports.

According to a report on Phonearena.com, the three variants of Honor 7 smartphone differ only in terms of storage and connectivity. The three variants are an all-metal device and sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display with a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch. Right above the display is an 8-megapixel front facing camera with fixed focus and F2.4 aperture, reports Android Authority.

At the rear, the Honor 7 gets a Sony IMX230 camera with 21 megapixels and the Phase Detection Auto Focus that allows the smartphone’s camera to focus on a subject in 0.1 seconds. The fingerprint sensor that was initially debuted on the Ascend Mate 7 is positioned beneath the camera and it just needs one tap to unlock the phone. The fingerprint sensor can be used for security purposes in banking and payments applications, as per the Android Authority report.

Powering the Honor 7 is an octa-core Kirin 930 processor, which has 4 Cortex A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 4 more clocked at 1.5GHz. It also gets a Mali T628 GPU, 3GB RAM and a microSD card expansion slot that allows an increase in storage space by upto 128 GB. The Android 5.0 Lollipop based Honor 7 comes with Huawei’s Emotion UI v3.1 on top along with a 3100mAh battery with fast charging that can completely charge the smartphone in 1 hour and 25 minutes, reports Android Authority.

According to a report on NDTV Gadgets, the Honor 7 is rich in connectivity and sports NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS and 4G LTE. It measures 143.2x71.9 x 8.5mm and weighs 157 grams. The Honor 7 is currently available in China only and the company is yet to share information on its global availability, reports NDTV Gadgets.
