Allison Carr, played by Miranda Otto, has more surprises in store for “Homeland” viewers for the upcoming Season 6.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Homeland" spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

Carr’s character was a new addition to the TV show’s fifth season. As the previous season ended, viewers were subjected to a big surprise. It was revealed that Carr was working as a double agent. Posing as the CIA chief in Berlin, she was secretly working for Russia as a moonlight agent. To make things more intriguing, she also made some moves on Saul Berenson.

Miranda Otto’s role in Homeland is described to be quite a turn-around from her ever-popular role in “The Lord of the Rings” as Eowyn.

The Los Angeles Times was able to sit down and talk with the actress earlier this week. She started discussing about her role as a female villain in the show. Otto beamed with joy as she talked about her character in "Homeland."

When asked by Yvonne Villareal of the Los Angeles Times what her favourite scene in Season 5 was. Otto beamed with joy as she said “Shooting Condrad in the head!”

She was referring to Carr’s CIA handler Conrad Fuller (Morocco Omari). Otto’s laughter was unstoppable after answering the question, as seen in the Los Angeles Times interview.

She further talked about why she loved that role. As an actress, Otto described herself to be not really into action-related things. Hence, when the scene had to be shot, she felt that it was more of something that a male character would do.

Being a female character, Otto also noted that what’s interesting with Allison Carr is that she has many manly attributes. She noted that Carr did not have children. Also, she is concentrated on her career as well. Otto noted that while the character may have female attributes, she also had parts where a man could play the role. Otto added that she had fun doing all the scenes and the action required for the part.

The credits for season six is also rumoured to be changed, Melty reports. The show is known to change its credits based on current events. Hence, it is speculated that various places in New York would be shown.

Homeland Season 6 will air on October 2016 on Showtime. It also airs on Channel TEN in Australia.
