Fans are hoping for “Hart of Dixie” Season 5 even as The CW cancelled the series in May this year.

Scott Porter, who is part of the “Hart of Dixie” cast since Season 1, recently went on Twitter to promote the show’s run on Netflix. In comments to Porter’s tweet, fans expressed hope for Netflix to pick up the series and pick up where it left off.

“Hart of Dixie” premiered on The CW in September 2011. It ran 22 episodes each for the first three seasons. The final season aired only ten episodes from Dec. 15, 2014 to March 27 this year. The show’s home network announced the cancellation in May.

Rachel Bilson (“The Last Kiss,” “Jumper”) led the cast of “Hart of Dixie.” She currently has no active projects listed on IMDB, but she has recently announced on her Instagram that she’s “back to work.” The actress announced two weeks ago that she is the new official spokesperson of ChapStick.

“Hart of Dixie” Season 4 started airing on Netflix this month. Fans are thrilled, but they want more. It remains to be seen whether the streaming service would decide to pick up the show for a fifth season. There has been no official announcement on the matter as of this writing.

Netflix is currently streaming several original programs including “House of Cards,” “Jessica Jones” and “Daredevil.”

Prior to cancelling “Hart of Dixie,” The CW President Mark Pedowitz said the Season 4 finale is a “great season finale” should the network decide to renew the series. Within four months, however, announcement of the series cancellation came out.
