The lack of split-screen has been quite the issue with 343 Industries’ upcoming title “Halo 5 Guardians.” And there have been many instances wherein fans have voiced out their opinion with the infamous “#BringHalo5SplitScreenBack.”

However, it appears that the developer’s mind will not be changed in terms of bringing back the split-screen mode. Over at Twitter, 343 Industries’ Frank O’Connor stated that they would have done it if they could have, but the team considers it as a nontrivial aspect of the game, GameSpot reported.

The issue has already been dealt with before, wherein the developer has explained that the overall plans and gaming experience in “Halo 5: Guardians” will be affected negatively by the split-screen feature. The removal of the mode was an important decision, one that pitted game design versus the current technology required in delivering a next-gen Halo title.

343 Industries also took the time to get into a little Q&A session for its HUD design in “Halo 5: Guardians” in the latest blog update via the official Halo Waypoint. Players who have been long-time fans of the Halo lore will enjoy the little details that the artists have put into the project.

According to UI artist Eric Will, even the little details of the HUDs are attributed to the Halo story, hence the differences between the two. For instance, the Osiris Team and the Blue Team have a technological and generational gap. To achieve a total style differentiation, there were even two artists and team working on the design per Halo team.

“To that end, you will find that Blue Team is much more monochromatic and utilitarian, and Osiris Team is more multi-tonal and features a more stylized and graphic look,” said Will over at Halo Waypoint.

Following its showing at Gamescom, 343 Industries is also starting to look into the fine tunings of “Halo 5: Guardians.” Among the things that have already changed from the last gaming event include better stick tuning for more precise weapon handling, tweaks with some of the weapons and fixes for a couple of physics impulses-related issues.

As a bonus, the developer has also provided a quick updated on the much-wanted “Halo Wars 2.” While confirming that the sequel has been in production, though in secret, the team working on the title has actually also been busy taking into consideration the many wish lists that fans have been throwing around online.

“Halo Wars 2” will be coming to the Xbox One and Windows 10. But as far as timelines are concerned, 343 Industries will be keeping details until a likely reveal next year.
