A lot of fans have waited all winter to know what exactly happened to Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) on “Grey’s Anatomy.” However, after a lot of talk of prisons, he happens to be nowhere nearby. Alex might be on everyone’s mind, but in the previous episodes only three participants were seen and these were Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington), Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw).

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Grey’s Anatomy” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens before the next episode airs.

With this, fans might have wondered how other fans would survive an episode that is very dense with Jo. Fortunately, things did not turn out so bad and it will remain okay as long as Jo stays away from anything connected to Alex, romantic connections or Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) being better than she is. Also, the real focus of the moment is their patient of the day: a 16-year-old maximum security inmate named Kristen Rochester (Anna Jacoby-Heron)., who is pregnant.

This prisoner happens to be classified as a K-10, which is a label given to an inmate with violent tendencies. The crime that put her behind bars was not revealed, but it is pretty obvious that it was awful. That display of rage was painful to watch, but the bigger challenge is a young woman in late-term pregnancy being put on a four-point restraint. Kristen in 31 weeks pregnant and has an acardiac twin, a nonviable second fetus that feeds off the healthy baby. The doctors had to cut the connection between the two for their survival.

In the official promo for this upcoming episode, titled “Jukebox Hero,” the real situation of Alex is teased. Almost everyone else on had been waiting on word from him about where he has been.

While the rest of them are puzzled, it looks like Jo remains calm and knows exactly what has been going on all this time. It should be remembered that, earlier, Alex learned about Jo’s abusive husband and the danger that she will be exposed to if she offers her testimony.

This episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” will air on February 2 at 8 p.m. on ABC in the US. In Australia, it airs on Channel Seven.
