The next episode of “The Blacklist” will set up and flow into the upcoming “The Blacklist: Redemption” spin-off. Thus, it makes perfect sense that Tom (Ryan Eggold) will not be seen anywhere until the new show commences. The story arcs may be much longer now, but fans are delighted to see the show return to its roots.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “The Blacklist” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens before the next episode airs.

In the last two episodes, “The Blacklist” started a trend of presenting new ideas about Raymond Reddington (James Spader) and Elizabeth Keen’s (Megan Boone) ongoing mystery saga, which is discreetly hidden in a Blacklister storyline. Whether this means that they are distracting viewers with an influx of new characters or if they just got worn out mid-season is still unknown.

Viewers previously got introduced to a group of smart women who sport fierce clothing, love to party and do a lot of impractical things -- collectively known as The Harem. Before viewers met their leader, Emma, her crew was introduced. Their capabilities were highlighted when a group of men walked into a country club and the women jacked their car and took all the diamonds that they had been rolling with.

While those ladies were a sight to see, there will be a slight shift in perspective on the upcoming episode, titled “Natalie Luca.” Spoilers reveal that Red will ask Tom to do him a big favour.

In the official promo video for season 4 episode 12 [watch below], Red reveals that his operation is under siege. While this is going to be tough for him, it looks like he is setting up a revenge plot in his typical fashion. As for hiring Tom, it seems his latest mission has a lot to do with that plan.

The official synopsis reveals that the Task Force will be chasing an elusive assassin who does kills by infecting victims with a lethal disease. In the meantime, Red will enlist the services of Tom for an undercover operation inside his own criminal organisation.

Season 4 episode 12 of “The Blacklist” will air on Feb. 2, 10 p.m., on NBC in the US. It also airs on Channel Seven in Australia.
