Rockstar Games continues to deliver additional content for its “Grand Theft Auto Online” series, the next of which is the “Tiny Racer” DLC. The upcoming add-on is not actually a game-changer but more of an option to play the game the way it was years ago.

The “Tiny Racer” add-on carries a bit of retro perspective, giving gamers a topside looking in kind of a view that recalls earlier titles of the GTA franchise. This includes medieval game titles such as “Grand Theft Auto II” and “Grand Theft Auto: London,” Kotaku reported.

Compared to the other DLCs that Rockstar Games has released for “Grand Theft Auto,” this one may not necessarily be a big one. The prior add-on was the “Cunning Stunts” DLC, one that brought 16 brand-new, high-octane races ranging from winding tubular tracks amongst Los Santos’ tallest skyscrapers to technical courses through canyons, over water and across the desert.

Either way, added content is always welcome to “Grand Theft Auto Online” players, even if it delves away from the traditional high-resolution graphics that the game has been known for. The reception may not be as hyped compared to others, meaning some may not necessarily be thrilled to play it as often as most.

Regardless, the game offers some challenges that gamers may find interesting. That includes getting through the hurdles and obstacles as they use their wits to reach the finish line, Engadget reported.

For those not closely monitoring the gaming niche, the move by Rockstar Games to bring back the “Grand Theft Auto” classic could be in line with the return of other popular games. A lot of these are coming from the Nintendo front, particularly the resurrection of the SNES Classic Edition reportedly coming before the Christmas season as previously reported here on IBT.

Together with the classic consoles are retro games that include “Super Mario,” “Donkey Kong” and “Legend of Zelda.” While “Grand Theft Auto” may not necessarily be as aged like Nintendo, recalling some old game titles in the form of the “Tiny Racer” update shouldn’t hurt.

The push to add more content for “Grand Theft Auto Online” could also be viewed as a tactic to buy Rockstar Games more time. With no word on when “Grand Theft Auto 6” will be out, the ploy right now is to add content to “Grand Theft Auto Online” with most gamers seemingly fine as they wait for the next version of the action-adventure game.
