‘Grand Theft Auto 6’ release date, news & update: VR technology could make the game break every record

While “Grand Theft Auto 6” is still a year or two away, fans are already widely speculating about the game, and how Rockstar Games will surprise them all. The developer is currently concentrating its efforts on “Red Dead Redemption 2,” another big title from the developer. “Grand Theft Auto 5” is a few years old now and fans believe a new title is required. Certain unconfirmed reports have stated that “GTA 6” has already entered the pre-production stage. However, it’s too early to say that and such reports should be taken with a pinch of salt.

There are certain features that most fans would love to see and one of them is definitely first-person/VR support. First-person POV has already been announced for “GTA 5” and it has been well-received by gamers. A VR experience coupled with first-person POV will be a dream-come-true for gamers, believes INQUISTR. Many also believe there is no better way than VR to put a gamer right at the centre of the gaming experience and VR Technology has steadily improved over the years. By the time “Grand Theft Auto 6” is released, VR will already be popular in gaming.

“GTA 6” players also want a bigger map as exploration is the primary aspect of the series and it’s an open-world game. While the games have got bigger, the map hasn’t. There are rumours that the “Grand Theft Auto 6” map will be the largest, even as large as the US. Finally, players are also hoping more characters to be added to expand the game’s playability, as each playable character has his/her own back story. The multiple protagonist angle can also be explored. A female lead is a huge possibility, and it has never been done before.

One theory claims that “Grand Theft Auto 6” will be released in 2021. This is because of a “GTA 5” Easter Egg that has fuelled tremendous fan excitement. YouTuber Itz Frolickz pointed out that a weird door numbering that featured in one of the current game’s airports have dropped the clue. When players visit this particular airport and look closely, they will find two doors with the number 2013 and 2021. This is very peculiar considering the fact that door numbers always follow a definite pattern.

To add fuel to speculation, “Grand Theft Auto 5” was released in 2013. While this theory is the most-believed right now, another theory states a 2020 release date for “GTA 6.” According to an earlier report by Tech Radar, Rockstar Games, after three years of GTA Online, was ready to do “Red Dead Redemption 2.” If the same holds true this time, ten “Grand Theft Auto 6” could be coming out in 2020.
