The Riddler is officially in “Gotham” and Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) has already been dealt with. While these story arcs are ongoing, it looks like young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is also gearing up for a bigger foe to come. This time, he will be going head-on with the people who actually pull the strings from underneath Gotham City.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Gotham” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens before the next episode airs.

Before “Gotham” took a break, viewers saw how Bruce and Jerome faced off in the iconic hall of mirrors. Bruce let out the Dark Knight that had always been deep inside as he managed to capture Jerome in a non-violent manner. While Jerome might be starting his own gang, Bruce still has his hands full with a bigger evil looming.

Now that Jerome is out of the picture (or is he?), the Court of Owls is getting ready to take centre stage. They are all set for what they are about to do to Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz). This very mysterious underground group has not been as visible as Batman’s other enemies in the comic book lore. However, it is responsible for some of the worst acts ever committed in Gotham -- one of them possibly being the death of Bruce Wayne’s parents.

In an interview by TV Guide, David Mazouz, who plays young Bruce Wayne on “Gotham,” revealed that the Court of Owls is about to become very present in the next part of the season. This only means that viewers should be on full alert as they try to carry out some of their sinister plans into action.

While the Court of Owls will definitely have a lot of evil in store, it is Bruce who has the most to worry about. Mazouz hinted that they will do something substantial to him that will change him forever emotionally. What that is and whether or not that has something to do with taking blame for the killing of his parents remains to be seen.

By now, fans already know that the Court of Owls can have their claws into Bruce’s spitting image, which they can use to convince everybody that Bruce is one of them. However, it looks like their plans are about to get even worse for the future Batman as he is about to get hit hard. Whatever it is, it looks like he will be one step closer to establishing the billionaire Dark Knight he is destined to be.

"Gotham" is currently on hiatus and will return to Fox April 24 in the US. It can also be watched in Australia via the SyFy Channel.
