“Girl Meets World” has aired its final episode on Disney Channel, but show creator Michael Jacobs has hinted that it may not be the ultimate fate of the show. Jacobs has assured fans that they are having talks with other networks for the series to be picked up for more episodes, saying the decision for the show’s renewal may happen sooner rather than later.

The showrunner of “Girl Meets World” said he believes the decision about the show’s ultimate cancellation or renewal on a different network may happen within three or four months. “I don’t think this thing can go on three or four months without a decision. I think it will be sooner rather than later,” Jacob said.

He assured that the issue will be resolved relatively soon for the benefit of fans who have been hoping for more episodes of “Girl Meets World.” Fans have launched a campaign called Paper Airplane Campaign in order to save the show. They are hoping that a different network will be the saviour of “Girl Meets World.”

Jacobs has expressed gratitude for the Paper Airplane Campaign, saying it was something that fans have actually come up themselves. He said he himself agrees that the show should not have been cancelled in its third season because there are more stories to tell.

Shall “Girl Meets World” be picked up by a different network, Jacobs said the cast will be on board. The experience that the show has given to both fans and crew has been great that the inclination would be to stay together if they could.

As to what to expect in the possible “Girl Meets World” season 4, Jacobs said he does not have any plans to tell extreme or severe stories. But he would love to continue the reality of what happens to the characters as they grow up in this world.

Jacobs remains hopeful that they will be able to narrate interesting stories. He is also hoping that shall there be a “Girl Meets World” season 4, it is not going to the last. “We would not be trying to compose a last season of anything, we would be trying to compose a next season,” he told the Wrap.

“Girl Meets World” was aired in Australia through Disney Channel. With the show runner’s assurance, it is expected that the fate of the beloved series will be known in a few days.
