“Girl Meets World” has been officially cancelled by Disney Channel, but several fans are still hoping for a possible fourth season of the show. While show co-creator Michael Jacobs is having talks with different platforms that could serve as the saviour for the series, “Girl Meets World” lead stars Rowan Blanchard (Riley) and Sabrina Carpenter (Maya) are already busy with other commitments.

Fans of Blanchard and Carpenter would be delighted to know that the two “Girl Meets World” lead stars still have a lot in store for fans although their Disney series has already come to a close. Both actresses have started working for their next projects.

Rowan is currently busy with the shoots of her new film titled “A Wrinkle in Time.” The film’s story is based on a science fantasy of the same name written by Madeleine L'Engle. Rowan gets the chance to work alongside an A-list cast, which includes Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and more.

Carpenter, on the other hand, voices Candace on Disney XD's animated TV show “Milo Murphy’s Law.” She has also been busy with the North American leg of her EVOLution Tour. During the said tour, the “Girl Meets World” star was reunited with her Disney Channel original movie co-star Sofia Carson.

With Blanchard and Carpenter’s busy schedules, some fans are afraid that “Girl Meets World” may no longer push through. But it seems that fans actually don’t have anything to worry about as Jacobs has assured that the show shall be picked up by a different network and the cast will be on board.

The “Girl Meets World” showrunner has shared that the experience the series has given to both fans and crew has been great that the inclination would be to stay together if they could. “I believe everyone will be on board,” Jacobs told the Wrap.

Jacobs has also expressed gratitude for the Paper Airplane Campaign. The campaign was launched by fans to appeal to networks such as Hulu and Netflix to pick up “Girl Meets World” for more episodes. Jacobs said he himself agrees that the show should not have been cancelled during its third season because it has more stories to tell.

“Girl Meets World” was aired in Australia through Disney Channel. With the fans and the showrunner’s enthusiasm for more episodes, news on the fate of the beloved series is expected to be known in a few days.
