“Great Gatsby” lead star, Leonardo DiCaprio has painted the town red over the weekend to celebrate girlfriend, Blake Lively’s birthday.

While America is preparing for the 2011 MTV’s Video Music Awards Sunday, the “Gossip Girl” flew in Down Under Saturday, Aug. 27 to reunite with Leo, earlier reported by IBTimes to stay in Sydney for four months to film his latest film, “The Great Gatsby”.

Local reports have it that the couple wasted no time and were soon out spending romantic date in Sydney to celebrate Blake’s birthday who turned 24 last Aug. 25, Thursday.

Quick Stroll

Shortly after arrival in Sydney Saturday, Leonardo and Blake were seen taking a limo and then off for a quick stroll from Sydney Aquarium to Star City.

They were seen walking around the foreshore and into the Harbourside shopping complex.

Joined by Gatsby co-star Tobey Maguire and his family for dinner, they were first snapped near a fast food restaurant before they headed to a casino. The night ended at Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf for dinner.

Romantic Dinner
To mark Lively’s 24th birthday, Leonardo and Blake chose an exclusive restaurant, called Aria in Australian capital. A hotspot in Sydney, Aria overlooks the harbor and the couple was seen enjoying the view.

"She looked gorgeous and they looked very much like a couple," an unnamed source was quoted as saying by Australia’s Daily Telegraph.
"They seemed to be having a really nice time and were definitely enjoying the view."

Taking their Wild Side
Leo has been Down Under since “Aug. 25 Monday to film for Great Gatsby” and therefore has seen some of the greatest places in Australia. And being a gentleman that he really is, he had taken his legally blonde girl, Blake to some of other beautiful places down there.

The new Hollywood couple also took a short trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park, located in Doonside Western Sydney Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Entertainment.STV.tv noted that the celebrity couple get up close and personal with little crocodiles during the tour.

The Park marketing manager, Kellie Ames was there to greet Leonardo and Blake as they arrived and could not be happier to do the task.

"We weren't told who it was. We only knew when they arrived. I made sure I was the one who escorted them when I saw it was Leo. I'm a big fan of his movies,” Ames said, according to Entertainment.STV.tv.

And Ames has more to say about the couple.

"They were both so nice and down to earth. Leo was asking about the endangered animals. They loved the koalas and the wombats. We also brought out baby saltwater crocs. Neither of them seemed scared one bit. They were very calm," Ames said.

There’s no report as of yet until when Blake will keep Leo’s company always ‘lively’. But Australia knows he will be seeing a lot of him in the next four months to film the 3D version of the film. Leonardo is reportedly staying in an exclusive apartment in Vaucluse for the entire four-month production of “Great Gatsby” in Sydney, Australia.
