Remembering Michael Jackson on his 53rd Birthday [PHOTOS]

August 29 marks Michael Jackson’s 53rd birthday of Michael Jackson had it not for the King of Pop’s shocking death on June 29, 2009. And while the big stars in the music industry paid tribute to the Legend at 2011 MTV’s Video Music Awards Sunday, the singer’s family have gathered and together visited MJ’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the family was led by MJ’s mother, Katherine Jackson, who attended the gathering in a green dress, taking with her the late singer’s children.

Dubbed by media as the Jackson matriarch, Katherine Jackson has been legally recognized by the court as the guardian for MJ’s kids - - Prince, 14, Paris, 13 and nine-year-old Blanket. Check out the photo of the “Thriller” singer’s children, accompanied by MJ’s mother, Katherine here.

The family is joined by hundreds of fans who opted to camp out outside MJ’s Indiana homes over the weekend before tuning in to MTV’s 2011 Video Music Awards and find out Sunday evening’s big winners.

MJ’s teenage daughter, Paris Jackson was openly overwhelmed by the unwavering and loyal support of her father’s fans.

The Christian Post quoted the teenager as telling a local television station, WLS-TV expressing that she “enjoyed seeing her father’s fans”.

No reports have confirmed whether other members of the Jackson siblings, earlier known as the Jackson 5 graced the gathering in MJ’s childhood home.

But MJ’s sister, La Toya has taken to Twitter to wish MJ a happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday Michael! I miss you and we will always love you! You’ve given such an extraordinary gift to the world! We cherish it!” LaToya Jackson posted on her Twitter.

A concert tribute is now underway in Cardiff to look back into the singer’s contribution in the industry and how he has changed music.

But Janet Jackson has confirmed she will not be attending the concert tribute for Michael Jackson set later this year.
