Last Tuesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Jimmy asked the audience if they watched “Game of Thrones,” which aired on May 22. People excitedly said yes. Kimmel later revealed that they have invited the executive producers of the show David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for an appearance. Kimmel revealed a bigger surprise, saying that for the first time in the “Game of Thrones” history, they are issuing an apology to the fans.

The video was titled “A Heartfelt Apology From Game of Thrones .” It started off when Benioff and D.B. Weiss introduced themselves. “We would like to apologize for Sunday’s episode, ” the show runners said.

However, they clarified that they are not sorry for killing Hodor as they are used to killing a lot of main characters. The video zoomed out and showed the executive producers sitting on a couch with lots of money. They continued to emphasize that they have killed 739 main characters already.

Their apology is directed to the people who would be dealing with “idiots” who would be shouting “Hodor!” every time they request a person to hold the door for them. Weiss admitted that they forgot that people are annoying. They explained that they should have seen it coming, the Wall Street Journal said. The video further showed several instances that the word “Hodor” (diminutive for “hold the door”) could be used.

Looking back at Episode 5, which the gentle giant “Hodor” experienced a tragic death. His slow death was done by holding a door to stop a horde of wights and White Walkers. He was trying to save Bran and Meera. The scene became more intense when flashbacks on how Hodor lost his capability to speak was simultaneously showing on screen. It was revealed that it was also Bran’s fault why Hodor’s mind was damaged and left him with the capability of only saying the word “Hodor.”

“Game of Thrones” airs every Sunday on HBO.
