“Game of Thrones” alum Ed Skrein is set to star in “The Transporter Refueled,” the fourth instalment of the French film franchise “Transporter.” He replaced “Furious 8” star Jason Statham, who played Frank Martin in the first three instalments.

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Skrein said he has never really felt any pressure from the beginning in terms of not having to emulate the character originally portrayed by Statham. He said he never really suffered with such pressure in the past

From a beginner's perspective, Skrein said he feels very relaxed about playing Frank Martin in “Transporter Refuelled.” According to him, the pressure has always come from him and he has never really compared himself with others.

To ready himself for the Frank Martin role, Skrein underwent martial arts training. He claimed that he is good at is getting his head down and working hard as he was paying attention to his coaches and trying to be the best student he could be.

Before starting to shoot for “The Transporter Refueled,” Skrein also underwent a crash course in high-speed auto racing, Movie Talkies has learned. The actor said he learned small but very useful details, such as the proper positioning of hands on the steering wheel.

Prior to replacing Statham in “The Transporter Refueled,” Skrein played Daario Naharis in “Game of Thrones” and Anthony Walsh in “The Tunnel.” In 2016, he will play Ajax in Tim Miller’s “Deadpool,” which stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, T.J.
