It was Jason Statham’s 76-year-old fatherBarry Wild's dream to perform on the Las Vegas Strip. Recently, the “Furious 8” and “Mechanic: Resurrection” star arranged for that dream to come true.

Wild used to sing in small pubs in remote British villages to supplement his family income. According to Statham, his father said long ago that he has a dream that he would make it one day and sing on the Las Vegas Strip.

Statham told Las Vegas Sun that his father once again mentioned about his dream Las Vegas performance earlier this year. He said his father told his mother that the dream was still in his brain and it was his mother who told him.

Fortunately, Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl happens to be Statham’s friend. The “Furious 8” star turned to Earl, who enlisted Caesars Entertainment Global President Tom Jenkin’s help to arranged for the actor’s father to perform at Le Cabaret, Paris Las Vegas.

From London, Statham’s parents flew to Las Vegas for a vacation weekend with their son and his girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a Victoria Secret’s model and “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” star. Wild was surprised that he had landed a one-night-only performance on the Las Vegas Strip.

Wearing a black shirt, Stetson, pants and cowboy boots, Wild briefly rehearsed with a four-piece band. He was cheered on by Hollywood lawyers and agents as well as Caesars Entertainment execs, who were invited by Statham.

Shortly before Statham arranged for his father’s dream Las Vegas performance to come true, it was announced that the “Furious 8” actor will executive produce a new TV drama titled “Viva La Madness” from Gaumont International Television. He will also star in the hour-long action thriller based on J.J. Connolly’s book of the same name, which is not yet attached to any network, according to Variety.
