Floyd Mayweather Sr. surely talks too much but what he said recently will surely excite all the boxing and fight fans. Floyd Mayweather Jr’s outspoken father has all but guaranteed that the highly-anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao super fight is going to happen in 2015.

Speaking with fighthype.com’s Ben Thompson, Mayweather Sr. said that his son will fight the Filipino pugilist in one of the last two fights of Mayweather Jr.’s career and considers the super fight as the biggest ever in boxing even comparing it to past marquee match-ups between Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier and Ali vs. George Foreman.

“It's gonna happen. That fight's gonna happen. Trust me. That fight's definitely gonna happen. It's a fight for the world, man, right there. It's the biggest fight that has ever been in life, so like I said man, that fight's gonna happen,” Floyd Mayweather Sr. said with conviction although he admitted that his son hasn’t revealed his 2015 plans yet.

“[I’m going to] tell you right now, he never told me the fight's gonna happen, but [I’m going to] tell you, the fight's gonna happen. You mark my words and we'll see.”

Mayweather Jr. has said earlier in 2014 that he plans to retire by 2015— and most likely will be fighting his last two bouts for that year. Mayweather is undefeated in 47 fights in his career and aiming for to preserve the immaculate record by the time he retires.

Aside from Manny Pacquiao, another fighter rumoured to be in Mayweather Jr’s radar is British boxer Amir Khan although there has been no official word yet from the respective boxers’ camps.

As expected, Mayweather Sr., who has shown ultimate confidence in his son in the squared ring, provided insights on what will happen if the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight happens in 2015.

“Pacquiao is tailor-made for Floyd. He's tailor-made to eat the right hand all day long. You gotta remember, Pacquiao is a southpaw. He's a southpaw and Floyd is right-handed, so he'll eat right hands and left hooks all night, and more than likely, he will be going to sleep again. Believe me!” Mayweather said in the same article.

The new statement by Floyd Jr’s father will surely add more fuel to the hype. Recently Jeff Mayweather, Floyd Jr’s uncle has also said that his nephew will probably choose between Pacquiao or Khan for his next fight.

Mayweather Jr. also said in one interview early October that if Pacquiao wins in his next fight, he’s open to talking about the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao super fight in 2015. Pacquiao responded two days later that indeed, the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao bout “could happen” in 2015.

Then there’s also the HBO Sports— owner of Pacquiao’ fights and Showtime— Mayweather’s factor. According to reports, the two TV giants want the fight to happen and are putting the pressure on their fighters to make the super fight a reality.

Mayweather is fresh off a convincing albeit boring in the rematch against Marcos Maidana last Sept. 13 while Pacquiao is set to face another undefeated American but unheralded Chris Algieri on Nov. 22 in Macau.

As with anything Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, nothing is set in stone as seen in past failed negotiations between the two boxers. But for Floyd Mayweather Sr., it’s a titanic fight that should happen and the entire boxing world is hoping that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will listen to his father.
