As days go by, it appears that the probable Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao super fight in 2015 will finally become a reality.

A recent comment by Mayweather, who is in Moscow, Russia, added fuel to the hype machine as the undefeated American declared he wants to talk to Pacquiao for what many considered one of the biggest bouts in the history of boxing.

As with anything Mayweather, who was accused in the past for running away from big name opponents, the declaration comes with a condition:

“Let him beat Algieri first, and then we’ll talk,” Mayweather said via boxingscene.com.

Latest Update: Manny Pacquiao On Fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr.: ”It Could Happen Next Year”

The statement comes on the heels of Floyd’s uncle Jeff’s speculation that his nephew will choose between British boxer Amir Khan and the Filipino pugilist Pacquiao, who will face American Chris Algieri on Nov. 22 in Macau.

Jeff actually had the same condition with Floyd saying that Pacquiao has to beat Chris Algieri first for the Filipino to have a shot at Mayweather and his undefeated record.

Mayweather Jr. (47-0-0, 26 KOs) is coming off a win against Marcos Maidana (35-5-0, 31 KOs) , in an unentertaining 12-round victory last Sept. 13, 2014. Mayweather beat Maidana with judges’ scores of 116-111, 116-111 and 115-112.

Mayweather’s resolve and seriousness on the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight will be tested late November; Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KOs) is hands down the heavy favourite against Algieri (20-0-0, 8 KOs) and the Filipino is pegged to easily win the fight against the unheralded American challenger.

While Mayweather’s pronouncements excites a lot of fight fans, the American boxer is known to backtrack from his comments. Backing away from the possible Pacquiao super fight could once again be an option as talks between Mayweather’s camp and Pacquiao’s side have bogged down in the past because of Mayweather’s demands.

Talks for a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight could happen in 2015 if Manny Pacquiao beats Chris Algieri, assured Floyd Mayweather Jr. The super fight between the top pound-for-pound boxers today is expected to break attendance and pay-per-view sales should it happen. Will Mayweather be true to his word this time around?
