In the Season 2 finale of “The Flash,” the speedster travelled back in time to stop the murder of his mother, thus kicking off a Flashpoint story. Now, there are endless possibilities as to what characters could appear in the new timeline Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) has just created.

This could mean that one of the most popular and significant characters in the DC Universe might be seen in the series soon. Some details in the show reportedly point out that the King of Atlantis might appear sooner than expected.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “The Flash” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the new episode airs.

According to Cinema Blend, Aquaman could be revealing himself in Season 3 of “The Flash.” The report traces its speculations from the San Diego Comic Con 2016, where juicy spoilers and future projects from the different franchises were confirmed and announced.

While none of these reports have been officially made true, fans in the meantime can only bet on whether or not they would like to see the powerful Atlantean King debut on the TV series.

While the DC shows on The CW have been able to feature many different characters over the years, Aquaman might not be able to make it to the network since such shows have only premiered characters that are not connected to the DC Extended Universe. This is also why “Arrow” lost a lot of it characters from its original line-up.

Another report from Comic Book notes that a deleted scene from “The Flash” points out to an even stronger possibility that the Aquaman will appear soon. In the scene, Detective Joe West and Barry Allen are seen talking to one another, where Barry mentions a man who can bend steel and it is not Superman. Joe replies to this by saying that “Yeah and last month, you disappeared to Amnesty Bay to investigate a man who could talk to fish.”

What is sure at this point is that Aquaman will be one of the main characters in “Justice League,” which recently premiered its trailer at SDCC 2016. The trailer shows Batman apparently on the hunt for him, even describing him as a man who talks to fish. The mythical king also appeared in a cameo role in “Batman versus Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The character is played by “Game of Thrones” star Jason Momoa, who portrayed Khal Drogo.

“The Flash” season 3 premiers on October 4, 2016 on The CW. It also airs on Fox8 in Australia.
