Entertainment Weekly notes that when Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) attempted to stop Zoom (Teddy Sears) from destroying the multiverse, he spawned a time remnant of himself, which attracted Time Wraiths. The effect may have turned Zoom into the Black Flash.

The villain in the comics is a Grim Reaper for speedsters, who send them back to Speed Force when they die. The character is more of a personification of Death than another enemy that aims to destroy the city.

Considering how the showrunners and Grant Gustin revealed that they will follow the “Flashpoint” storyline in the comics in developing “The Flash” Season 3, the Black Flash may represent a form of the New 52 Reverse Flash. Some believed that the man behind the mask is Todd Lasance.

In the photos presented by Screen Crush , West’s costume was predominantly yellow, with red accents. He had a yellow mask, a yellow suit, red pants and red gloves. The rumored Black Flash wore a black costume with molten accents. He had a striking and demonic appearance particularly because of his dark suit and mask that featured horn-like ear bolts.

There was also a shot of Barry Allen as well on the street with the cops behind him. Another image showed Barry apparently removing Wally’s mask. It seems that Wally and Black Flash had a brief encounter, where the former may have been knocked out by the more experienced and powerful speedster. Barry may have arrived to save Wally and take on the new villain himself.

Tom Felton previously signed to become a series regular. Tom Cavanagh, Violett Beane and John Wesley Shipp are among the returning characters.

“The Flash” Season 3 is set to launch in fall 2016 on The CW. It also airs on Fox8 in Australia.
