Fans of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel are certainly in high spirits. Finally, after a long wait and a few delays, production on "Fifty Shades of Grey" has begun. On exactly December 2, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson took their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele to the streets of Vancouver.

Thanks to the power of social media sharing, E.L. James took to Instagram to share a photo of the set. Along with Director Sam Taylor-Johnson, James and the cast started the production for "Fifty Shades of Grey." Other photos from the set showcasing Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have already been released online which may be seen here.

Dana Brunetti also shared a photo from the set with the caption, "Here we go." Unlike the expectation of fans that the photo would show off leathers, whips and chains, the photo was void of anything close to such.

For those who have been living under a rock all this time, "Fifty Shades of Grey" follows the story of Anastasia Steele who agrees into a contract with Christian Grey. The series is made of three books written by E.L. James which was inspired by Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight." Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were also the inspiration behind the characters of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

"The Social Network's" star Dakota Johnson plays the role of Anastasia Steele while "Once Upon a Time's" Jamie Dornan plays Christian Grey. Elliot Grey, the brother of Christian, is played by Luke Grimes. Anastasia Steele's best friend and roommate, Kate Kavanagh, will be portrayed by Eloise Mumford.

The film was originally set for release on August 1, 2014. Yet, due to Charlie Hunnam of "Sons of Anarchy" dropping the part of Christian Grey plus a few setbacks, release date was moved to February 13 of 2015. British director Sam Taylor-Johnson is in the helm of production with Dana Brunetti and E.L. James as executive producers of the film.
