Ian Somerhalder has officially bowed out of the running for the iconic role of Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey." With Ian out, that only means that the other two strong contenders namely Henry Cavill and Matt Bomer have a higher chance of nabbing the role. So who between Matt and Henry should get the role of Grey?

Countless names have been mentioned as potential stars for the lead roles in the upcoming film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." However, even with new names included in the mix, no one has managed to beat the strongest contenders for the role namely Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder. Yet, with the latest news of Somerhalder out of the running, two strongest contenders are left.

"E.L. was at a Comic-Con party July 20 telling people the part won't go to Ian," said a source.

It's once again a fight between Matt Bomer of "White Collar" and Henry Cavill of "Man of Steel." With both stars equally good-looking and physically fit, who has the better chance of nabbing the role? Bomer has long been a fan favourite since appearing in "Magic Mike" while Cavill had only become a household favourite for the part since the debut of the "Superman" remake.

Both Matt and Henry have starred in a few fan-made trailers that have garnered an astounding amount of views. Of course, even with Matt and Henry as the strongest contenders for the role, the final say would always depend on E.L. James.

James did mention earlier in June that she had eyed three Hollywood stars for the role. Hopefully, Matt Bomer and Henry Cavill were two of the three candidates. Still, only one star can prevail so who should it be: Henry Cavill or Matt Bomer?
