Quite a handful of fans were shocked and not to mention disappointed when "Sons of Anarchy" star, Charlie Hunnam nabbed the part of Christian Grey. Surprisingly, even Charlie Hunnam admitted he too was surprised and admitted he wasn't what "everybody imagined" for the part. What else did the "Pacific Rim" actor have to say?

E.L. James certainly caused Twitter to blow up last September following the announcement of the official cast for "Fifty Shades of Grey." As soon as Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam were chosen for the parts, an online petition against them on Change.org sparked demanding they be replaced by Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel.

Still, producers and the author remain rooted in their final choices for the part. All fans have to do is wait for the film and see Hunnam in action. According to Hunnam's co-stars from "Sons of Anarchy," fans won't be disappointed in what Hunnam can bring to the big screen. Hunnam along with stars from the show were interviewed for Entertainment Weekly where they couldn't help but comment on Charlie's upcoming erotica film, "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"We're thrilled for Charlie. He works hard, constantly challenges himself and his craft. He is a star, in all the right ways," said Kurt Sutter, creator of "Sons of Anarchy."

"I'm really proud of him. The choice was not an obvious one for him. But for good or bad, he will throw himself 100 percent in. I don't know if I want to see all that, but maybe," added Katy Sagal.

As for Hunnam, he knows he obviously doesn't look the part of Christian Grey which made him understood the fan back lash.

"There are so many fans of that book and I know that on the surface, I'm probably not what everybody imagined," stated Hunnam.

However, as his co-stars had stated Charlie is doing everything he can to perfectly portray the part in the film adaptation.

"I'm taking it very seriously and intend to explore the nature of who this character is, what motivates him-and also dress up nice and look good in those suits," explained Hunnam.
