While some fans remain outraged by the fact that Charlie Hunnam was cast as Christian Grey, other women were pleased by the "Sons of Anarchy" star getting cast in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film. If Hunnam has been receiving backlash online, in real life, he's being showered with lingerie. Hunnam wakes each day to the sight of women's underwear all piled up in his doorstep.

The executive producers of "Fifty Shades" might need to add a few more bodyguards around Charlie Hunnam's house. Reports claim Hunnam's doorstep is receiving quite the attention from adoring fans. All sorts of bras, knickers and lingerie were found on Hunnam's doorstep ever since the casting announcement was made.

"We've seen frilly knickers, bras and even stockings left at his door by some fans of the book as they try to get his attention," says Charlie's neighbour in Los Angeles in a report by Entertainment Wise. "It has been very odd. I've never seen anything quite like it," the neighbour added.

Hunnam has yet to speak up on the "odd" happenings around his house, specifically his doorstep. All the lingerie "showering" is mighty proof that Hunnam has tons of fans for the part of Christian Grey. Meanwhile, the online petition against Hunnam continues on Change.org. To date, 85,000 signatures have been collected and the number continues to grow.

It is, of course, unlikely that the production studio would sway their casting decision to the whims and wants of fans. Producer Dana Brunetti is, in fact, one who remains rooted in James' casting choice.

"There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc. So if your favourite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective," stated Brunetti on his Twitter account.
