Shailene Woodley has officially signed on to play Hazel Grace Lancaster of the highly-anticipated film adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars." Now, this is indeed great news for fans of John Green's best-selling novel. However, it has taken quite a while for the production studio to announce the official casting of Hazel Grace's partner, Augustus "Gus" Waters." With that in mind, here are a few actors perfect to play cancer-stricken teenager opposite Shailene Woodley.

Director Josh Boone is strictly picky when it comes to casting Hollywood celebs for the role of Augustus Waters. On Twitter, Josh had stated that he would only call in actors for a read given they are "not older than 25 years of age." This age requirement thus has a lot of worthy celebrities failing to apply for the role.

Of course, Hollywood is filled with actors "not older than 25" which gives them a better chance at nabbing the role of Augustus Waters. Still, some 26 year old actors would play the teenager perfectly well such as "American Horror Story's" Evan Peters.

Evan Peters joins a few other fan favourites for the role of Augustus of which include "Percy Jackson's" Logan Lerman, "Hunger Games" Liam Hemsworth, "Teen Wolf's" Dylan O'Brien, "Victorious" Avan Jogia "Drake & Josh's" Josh Peck and "Perks of Being a Wallflower's" Nicholas Braun.

These boys definitely fit the book description of Augustus, being "long and leanly muscular." Check out the slideshow to see the perfect stars who could portray the lovable and witty Augustus "Gus" Waters.
